Cervia Salt Pans
Sweet salt, flamingos and sunsets on the water, just behind Cervia.
The salt pans are a nature reserve and the southern gateway to the Po Delta Park. Cervia salt, called sweet because it lacks the bitter salts, has been harvested here for centuries, and flamingos, avocets and black-winged stilts live here.
You visit with the guides of the Visitor Centre, on foot, by bike or by electric boat: booking is best. In town, the old salt warehouses house the MUSA museum.
Opening days, times and tickets change through the year: always check the official site before you set off.
