Comacchio Lagoons
Water as far as the eye can see and flamingos, in the Po Delta Park.
The Comacchio lagoons are one of the largest wetlands in Italy, between Comacchio and the river Reno. Pink flamingos and a great many other bird species live here.
The best way to see them is the boat trip among the casoni, the old eel fishing stations, or by bicycle along the embankments. Bring binoculars and, in summer, something against mosquitoes.
