Comacchio and the Trepponti
The small town on the water: canals, bridges and eels.
Comacchio grew up on thirteen small islands of the lagoon and is still crossed along its canals. Its symbol is the Trepponti, the monumental bridge of 1638 with five flights of steps, once the gateway to the town for those arriving from the sea.
The local dish is eel, which you can learn about at the Manifattura dei Marinati. The beaches of the lidi are a few kilometres away.
