Piazza Saffi and San Mercuriale

Forlì's great square and the Romanesque bell tower that overlooks it.

Piazza Saffi is one of the largest squares in Italy. On one side stands the abbey of San Mercuriale, with its Romanesque brick bell tower more than seventy metres high, the symbol of the city.

Ten minutes away on foot are the San Domenico Museums, in a former convent, which host a major art exhibition every year.

Opening days, times and tickets change through the year: always check the official site before you set off.
