Arch of Augustus
The oldest Roman arch still standing, the gateway to Rimini.
Built in 27 BC to honour Augustus, it marked the end of the Via Flaminia coming from Rome. The battlements on top are a medieval addition.
From here Corso d'Augusto, the shopping street, crosses the old town past Piazza Tre Martiri to the Bridge of Tiberius: a fifteen minute walk between the two symbols of the city.
