What you will see

1Borgo Panigale

Ducati Museum 75 min

Inside the Borgo Panigale factory. The route starts with the history: the Società Scientifica Radio Brevetti Ducati, founded in 1926, the condensers and radios, then after the war the Cucciolo, the small engine to mount on a bicycle. Then the gallery of production motorcycles that marked the eras and the parade of racing bikes, from Superbike to MotoGP, with designs, engines and footage.

Closed on Wednesdays (except August) and on certain dates: tickets online only. The factory visit is at fixed times, with compulsory booking and closed shoes required; the ticket includes the museum.

2Sant'Agata Bolognese

Lamborghini Museum 75 min

Ferruccio Lamborghini, from Renazzo di Cento, had made his fortune with tractors; in 1963 he founded his car company here, and the bull in the logo is his zodiac sign. The museum, next to the factory, lines up the cars that made history: the first 350 GT, the 1966 Miura, the Countach, the LM 002 off-roader, right up to the ultra-limited series like Veneno, Centenario and Sesto Elemento. There's also a driving simulator.

Open every day, booking recommended. The tour of the production lines starts from the museum and must be booked separately, on the factory's working days.

3Maranello

Ferrari Museum Maranello 75 min

A stone's throw from the factory entrance and the Fiorano test track. The Formula 1 single-seaters that won world championships, the most famous grand tourers, the racing cars from the golden years, the trophies and the history of the Scuderia. There are also driving simulators, to be booked separately. Outside, along via Abetone, you can see the historic factory gate.

Open every day except Christmas and New Year's Day; ticket with date and time, the two-museum pass is convenient (must be visited within 48 hours).

4Modena

Enzo Ferrari Museum 60 min

Opened in 2012. On one side, the house and workshop of Enzo's father, from the 19th century, where he was born in 1898, with the story of his life and the engines. On the other, the large new gallery designed by Jan Kaplický's Future Systems studio: a yellow aluminium roof, the colour of Modena and the Ferrari badge, with air-intake slits like a bonnet. Below, the cars on display change with the exhibitions.

Open every day; same pass as the Ferrari Museum.

Tips

  • Factory tours (Ducati, Lamborghini) and the Ferrari simulator must be booked separately and have limited places.
  • A single ticket covers both Ferrari museums, Maranello and Modena, with a shuttle between the two.
