Basilica of Santo Stefano
Bologna's Seven Churches, on one of the loveliest squares in the city.
It is not one church but a complex of sacred buildings put up side by side over the centuries, hence the name Seven Churches. You pass from one church to the next through courtyards and a cloister.
The long triangular square in front is lined with porticoes and is a fine place for a break. It is five minutes on foot from the Two Towers.
