Sanctuary of San Luca

The sanctuary on the hill, at the top of the longest portico in the world.

The sanctuary stands on the Colle della Guardia, south-west of the centre of Bologna. You climb up on foot under a portico of 666 arches almost four kilometres long, starting from Porta Saragozza.

The porticoes of Bologna have been a UNESCO site since 2021 and this is the most spectacular stretch. If you would rather not walk, the tourist train from Piazza Maggiore takes you up.
